Can Daily Flossing Reduce The Risk Of Heart Disease?
Dental Health is crucial, and it’s especially important that we brush and floss daily.
Many people do not floss as they don’t make time to do so, this is why it’s necessary to create a habit (maybe when brushing) and turning it into one of your daily routines!
It’s the easiest preventive care there is.
Flossing only takes a few minutes per day.
It takes less time to use dental floss than to:
- Take a shower
- Check email
- Reboot the computer
- Update your status on social media
- Fold a load of laundry
- Unload the dishwasher
According to First Choice Dental, “Flossing your teeth is the way to get into these “nooks and crannies,” which need to be kept clean just as much as the rest of your teeth for good oral health. If you don’t floss, the areas between your teeth and underneath your gums begin to breed bacteria, and eventually plaque — both of which love to hide and cause problems.“
Flossing is important for dental health, because it helps to prevent heart disease, tooth decay, and to avoid the complication of diabetes.
Also, part of wellness is having your professional dental cleaning twice a year.
Whenever I have a dental cleaning, and it’s time for X-rays, I always request a thyroid guard, for added protection.
FYI – I’ve heard that a thyroid guard should be worn during a mammogram too.
It’s no big deal, just a gray collar that wraps around the neck with Velcro in the back to hold it on.
